WILDWING archives creator Renée Meiffren has been teaching ballet for over 30 years. She is an artist (former pro ballet dancer & studio owner, illustrator) and researcher (ballet historian, curriculum developer) based in the Pacific Northwest.

A Presidential Scholar in the Arts, Renée danced professionally with Béjart Ballet Lausanne and other companies before dedicating herself fully to teaching ballet. She holds advanced certification in American Ballet Theatre’s National Training Curriculum and created/ran Rose City Ballet School in Portland for many years, guided by the values Warmth. Excellence. Diversity.

During this time, she completed—with distinction—a Master’s degree from New York University in Dance Education: ABT Pedagogy.

Across all her work, Renée explores the ways ballet illuminates the intricacies of the human heart and she seeks to safeguard/promote the health of ballet and its dancers for years to come.
